• November 2024

    November 2024

The image of this particular collage seems appropriate for the current time and space I have been living in. It has been a very different year and much of this year that is 2024 has been spent in reflection and redirection. Sometimes it is important to take a breath, take stock, look around, and make some changes. So while I may have been absent on the ol' website and IG as of late, I am still here, working on new collages and making some much needed changes. Stay tuned for more updates and in the meantime, carry on.

  • The Sketchbook Project is Ending, or is it...?

I recently found out that after 17 years, The Sketchbook Project and the Brooklyn Art Library are closing its doors. Like everything else, when one door closes, another one opens.

My two contributions to The Sketchbook Project will be moving on too. Although I have the option of having my sketchbooks returned to me, I have decided to let them continue to be included in the next chapter of their story, to be shared, discovered and enjoyed. Right now, there are two potential sustainable art museum destinations that they could end up. Hopefully in time, I will know which. In the meantime, they are still available to view here on my website.

  • Turning Towards Summer

    Turning Towards Summer

As it is now Memorial Day, the days grow longer and we begin to stretch our legs and move about with the warmer temps, I have (finally!) added the current body of work that has been in progress for some time now. 'The Width of a Circle' is the title, as all pieces included in it have at least one circle involved. This particular body of work has been in process since December 2020. I kept wanting to make more pieces for it and kept putting off documenting the work for my website. Well, I recently finished the remaining pieces for it and they have arrived on the website! You can check it out here. Now I am free to begin again, (yep, I said it...), so in the meantime, enjoy 'The Width of a Circle' and the warmer temps!

  • Hello Spring!

    Hello Spring!

With Spring Arriving, so are new beginnings and website updates among other things. Just wanted to take a moment to let you all know the ol' website has gotten some Spring cleaning and some much needed changes. All the good and necessary stuff is still here of course, and who doesn't need a change now and again...? Especially now as we march through March and enter Spring, especially after 2020. Speaking of 2020, The virtual art exhibit: We Are All Contagious, the UMass Dartmouth Juried Online Exhibition, is still up and running until the threat of covid-19 is over. In case you didn't get a change to see it, or want to check it out again, by all means, click on the link. Don't know about you, but I have much to be grateful for and equally as much to look forward to. Enjoy the updates and carry on.

  • Introducing the 7" x 10" Series

    Introducing the 7" x 10" Series

This is a new series I created over the months of June and July 2020. At the time I needed break from the current series of work I started in January (Which feels like forever ago now...) I decided to do things a little differently, and went for it. I created a body of work which consists of a 7" x 10" format (yes, some are 10" x 7" but still count!). The only restriction I had was size. This allowed some "Free Space" to create without the umbrella of a direct theme. The result is the new series the 7" x 10" 's. I experimented, embraced randomness, process, had fun, allowed what some may consider 'flaws' to be included, and opened myself up even more. Some are definitely silly, some may not feel like they 'fit together', (but they do) and some more directed, yet either way, they all stem from an honest place. The project went by very quickly, and was eye opening. Size whether considered large or small is definitely enough of a challenge, lol. They were a lot of fun to make, and helped me feel more directed, motivated, and open. I hope you enjoy them regardless, and as always, thanks for spending time with the art!
